Highlighted on Biz Pulse

My Twitter friend Carol Dickson-Carr has highlighted Customize Wordpress as a WordPress source for those needing assistance. Customize WordPress installs, customizes, upgrades, and train WordPress software users.

More about Carol: Since 1990, she has taught and trained individuals from age 17 to 65 to understand and implement many important life lessons. From California to Florida to Texas; four-year, community and business colleges alike, her goal has always been to have the students leave with practical skills they did not have before they took her courses.

Ping…Search Engine Doorbell Ringing

One of the things that help search engines find your WordPress website is the use of “ping”. When you add new content to your website, your list of “ping” services are notified that you have made updates. To add additional “ping” services to your WordPress website, you must have administrator access. Click on “Settings” then “Writing”. You will find a box at the bottom of the page that will allow you to add “ping” services. Below is a starting list of “ping” services. Just copy and add to your WordPress website and make sure to save your changes.

Beta release of Google’s Friend Connect

So I just heard about Google’s Friend Connect and I decided to check it out. It’s plan is to provide a way for web site owners to build traffic and a “community’ around their websites. Web developers would be able to use Google’s Friend Connect to develop website with social media already built into them. Users would be able to become part of a each website’s community without having to “re-join” each time. For more detail, please view the video below.

Mind Mapping Your Blog Using Mindmeister and Freemind

I’ve recently found a wonderful new software called Mindmeister (online) which is a mind mapping software program that I use in conjunction with Freemind (desktop). According to Wikipedia.org, mind mapping is:

a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea. It is used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid in study, organization, problem solving, decision making, and writing.

With all of this in mind, I began using Mindmeister to map out the direction for my blogs. It has helped me to focus and center the process of writing post for my blogs.

I use both Mindmeister and Freemind because I can create mind maps on my desktop using Freemind when I’m on the go with my laptop and then import them into Mindmeister to share with other online. Using mind mapping is a great way to get organized.

To help you learn more about Mindmeister, I have created a training that will bee added to the training line-up for Podclass.com. Podclass website provides an opportunity for you to either register for training classes or to share/sell your own training online. Watch for more details about my training.
